Our Year 6s from Chestnut group have spent the last few weeks preparing for the annual Harvest Tea held for the more senior members of the Christian Malford community. A few weeks ago, the Year 6s hand-wrote letters of invitation; then yesterday and today they baked and decorated cakes. Yesterday, our Gardening Club made some very pretty decorations for the tables and this afternoon, the Year 6s were in charge of setting up the hall ready for the tea where they served a selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones together with tea and coffee. As well as serving the tea, our Year 6s chatted with their guests and also sang a selection of harvest hymns. Well done to Chestnut group who were fantastic hosts: they really entertained their guests and were polite and welcoming throughout.
We also thank Mrs Flowers for co-ordinating the Harvest Tea and to our parent volunteers who either made the sandwiches before the event or made the refreshments at the event.
